He just wants to be somebody’s shadow ❤️🐈⬛
When Ravi was surrendered to a local vet practice in Connecticut, the reason his family gave for giving him up was shocking: He was too affectionate.
The family hadn’t had Ravi very long before deciding it wasn’t the right fit, and his new friends at the vet practice were heartbroken for the 8-year-old cat. They contacted a rescue they often work with, The Little Guild, who immediately agreed to take him in. As his friends at the rescue got to know him, they understood what his family meant about him being affectionate — but couldn’t understand how anyone could ever give him up.

“He has such a sweet and silly personality,” Jennifer Langendoerfer, executive director of The Little Guild, told The Dodo. “He loves to cuddle with the staff members and hang out with the other shelter cats. His favorite thing is to snuggle up in your lap and take a nap.”

Ravi is definitely clingy, but in the best kind of way. He just wants to be loved on all the time, and that’s exactly what he deserves.

Ravi has been handling shelter life pretty well and has been at The Little Guild for about a month. He can’t wait to join his forever home — and it’s definitely not going to be a problem finding one for him.
“We’ve gotten over 100 applications for Ravi,” Langendoerfer said. “We have a small staff — but they are working through them to find the best fit for our sweet Ravi.”
Because he’s so sweet and agreeable, Ravi has very few requirements for his future home. The main one? Give him lots of cuddles and love him for the rest of his days.

“Ravi would be good for just about any home,” Langendoerfer said. “His ideal owner will love to cuddle and wouldn’t mind having a shadow that will follow them around everywhere seeking attention.”
