Woman Riding Bus Notices Someone Curled Up Behind The Driver’s Seat

Colombian journalist Natalia Martínez López doesn’t often take the bustling municipal buses of Bogota to travel around the city. But after one memorable ride she took recently, that soon may change.

López found this journey to be surprisingly delightful — all thanks to the bus driver and his adorable best friend.

After boarding the bus that day, López was quick to notice one fellow passenger in particular.

It was a dog, reclining peacefully in a narrow space behind the driver.

“My reaction was that of pure love,” López told The Dodo. “The driver brought her with him to work that day. I could tell that she was very well taken care of.”

The bus driver kept his eyes on the road as he navigated the busy streets, but never once forgot about the most precious cargo at his feet.

“He would pet her so much while we were stopped in traffic,” López said.

López and the other passengers mostly kept to themselves as they made their way to their destinations, though on that particular ride, they were unified in one simple feeling.

“Not only was the bus driver clearly happy to have his dog there,” López said, “everyone who got aboard was, too.”

It’s unclear if the dog rides along with her bus-driving owner regularly or if that was a one-time thing. But if you were to ask López, she’d hope for the former.

“The two of them made me so happy. It was a different kind of bus ride,” she said. “I would ride that bus with them every day.”
