The show has been widely acclaimed
A show that’s being called ‘Skins for adults’ is not only being deemed the best show on TV by some, but it’s also entirely free to watch – that is, if you’re in the UK.
While many are focused mostly on Netflix, Disney, and Amazon, it’s easy to forget the treasure trove that the UK gets purely by paying a TV license.
Whether it’s The Terror and Under the Banner of Heaven on ITV X, or the capacity on BBC’s iPlayer to watch Normal People and Threads (or rewatch the Britney Spears Toxic scene from Doctor Who on repeat), the free-to-watch streamers have some sneaky bangers.
Another can be added to the list though, as anything being compared to Skins is worth pricking your ears up for.

While Skins may already be one of the most adult shows about teenagers ever (move aside Euphoria, Skins was here first), this show takes things even further.
Sex, drugs, harrowing scenes of workplace abuse, and the most horrifying thing of all, bankers, the show has it all.

The show is called Industry, and while it’s an HBO affair, it is a deeply British show.
Industry focuses on a group of young graduates making their start at a brutal finance firm.
The debauchery undertaken is a level above even Skins, in line with the fact that it’s all taking place in a workplace, making it also even more realistic.
Based on the experiences of former bankers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, it stars Myha’la Herrold, Harry Lawtey, David Jonsson, and Back to Black star Marisa Abela.
Abela went on to play Amy Winehouse off the back of her breakout role in the show (HBO)
In season three, the show also got a massive addition in the form of HBO veteran and Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington.
One Reddit post on the subreddit r/IndustryHBO said: “Is this show not just Skins for adults?
“Don’t get me wrong, it’s great, I binged the whole first season this past weekend – but the whole time I felt this nostalgia that I couldn’t place, and maybe it’s because I haven’t watched much British television, but the two shows feel very similar in their storytelling and character relationships.”
Fans were widely in agreement, though saying that while Skins was generally considered to glorify substance abuse, Industry deals with the awful effects it can have on people.

Another post on the same subreddit said: “Industry is the best show on TV.
“There’s a new post-Succession king of tv. It looked like it might be The Bear, but after that season 3 epic fail it’s out of contention.
“If Industry keeps this up for 6 more episodes this will be the undeniable best show on tv.”
This was posted after the first two episodes of season three, the newest instalment in the show, with them going on to say: “Both episodes so far are nearly perfect hours. This entire cast should be sweeping next year’s Emmy’s, with Kit leading the charge”
The show was well received by critics too, with a 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
