On a recent night in Sealy, Texas, just as temperatures dropped to below freezing, three puppies were abandoned outside an apartment complex.

Sealy, like other areas in Texas, is currently experiencing an unusual bout of frigid weather. So these puppies were left to shiver in the cold with only each other for comfort.
Thankfully, a Good Samaritan noticed the dogs and posted them on a local Facebook group. While he couldnât take them in himself, he moved them to a vacant storage unit in the complex and covered them with blankets. Thanks to him, they survived the night.
A woman saw the pupsâ finderâs Facebook post and alerted Sauver Des Chiens German shepherd rescue (SDC). Knowing they needed to get warm quickly, she took it upon herself to travel to the apartment complex, scoop up the puppies and take them home with her.

âHer children quickly fell in love with the puppies and made it their mission to take care of them,â Kylie Jackson, SDC board of directors member and social media manager, told The Dodo.
The 7-week-old puppies were thankfully in relatively good health, with fleas as their only major concern. After a flea bath, they started feeling much better.

The rescuer’s children decided to name the first two pups Artemis and Hephaestus, and aptly named the âgoofy runtâ Squirt. The family took great care of the puppies until they were transferred to a more long-term foster home.
Thanks to everyone who went out of their way to care for them, the puppies are now thriving and enjoying living with their foster mama, Taite.

âThey are settling into their foster home, staying warm, and getting tons of rest and play time,â SDC wrote on Facebook.
Once the puppies are fully vaccinated and old enough, theyâll be available for adoption. Anyone whoâs interested can submit an application to SDCâs adoption page.

Itâs clear these puppies would make an adorable addition to any family. According to their foster mama, all three pups have fun-loving personalities.
âThey love to play and quickly took to their favorite toy, a stuffed octopus,â Jackson said.
